- Installer now detects the operating system and applies it to the Adjuster.
- Satellite Internet CCS files added.
- Win 9x Adjuster: DefaultTOS, IGMPLevel and TcpTimedWaitDelay parameters added; EnableRouting, MaxMSS and MaxMTU removed.
- Win NT/2000 Adjuster: DisableUserTOSSetting, DefaultTOSValue, FastSendDatagramThreshold and IgnorePushBitOnReceives added; DisableMediaSenseEventLog, FFPControlFlags and TcpMaxConnectRetransmission removed.
- Updated CCS and dat files, plus miscellaneous CCS fixes.
- v1.60 compiled installer: new look, and 30% faster.

v4.0: the Adjuster
Early 2001
JonG’s CableNut Adjuster arrives: a full graphical editor for nearly every TCP/IP and AFD registry value, with loadable and shareable CableNut Custom Setting (.ccs) files.

New tuned settings for DSL, 56K modem and fast cable users, a stronger universal uninstall, and more accurate defaults. Around the same time Lockergnome gave CableNut a mention in its daily issue.
v2.x and the first patches
2000
CableNut starts as the “Cablenut Speedup Program” for Windows 95/98/ME (v2.05 through v2.52) and the cablenut2k registry patch for Windows 2000, hosted on cablenut.performance.cx.
Version museum
The Internet Archive saved several of the original installers from the 2001 CableNut site. They are provided as-is for collectors and retro PCs. Use 4.08 unless you specifically want an older build.

After 4.08
- 2001–2006: CableNut passes 100,000 downloads, and a community add-on pack grows to more than 60 .ccs files.
- May 2006: Softpedia certifies CableNut 4.08 “100% Clean”.
- 2022: cablenut.com moves to WordPress.com.
- 2026: The site is redesigned as a permanent home for the software.
